THE TURNING POINT OF 2005: THE LUXURY HOUSE "HERMÈS PARIS," LEÏLA MENCHARI, AND THE "PRESTIGE COLLECTION": The year 2005 marked Nathalie Nadal-Olivié’s official entry onto the art scene and immediately defined her visual identity through the emergence of her first period, known as the "Mineral" phase: the PRESTIGE COLLECTION (2005–2011). The initial catalyst for this collection was her discovery of natural linen canvas. The artist found a texture, warmth, and visual softness in the material that instantly reminded her of the nobility of silk. Working with a palette knife, she created a masterpiece titled "Carré de Soie" (Silk Square). This abstract canvas was a direct tribute to the craftsmanship and aesthetic of the famous scarves created by the luxury house Hermès Paris. The painting’s destiny took a decisive turn thanks to a pivotal encounter with Leïla Menchari—the renowned Artistic Director of Hermès and a global icon of set design and the enchanting window displays at the Faubourg Saint-Honoré flagship store in Paris. Captivated by the artist’s work, Leïla Menchari championed Nathalie Nadal-Olivié and warmly recommended her art to Hermès Paris, specifically to the department responsible for the design of the iconic "Hermès Carrés" (silk scarves). This prestigious recognition established the artist’s credentials and confirmed the elegance and refinement of her work in the eyes of luxury and art professionals. This "Hermès" influence—characterized by a keen sense of contrast, a constant pursuit of the fluid movement of silk, and the use of noble materials—would remain the defining thread of her artistic signature. The Prestige Collection would go on to achieve international acclaim a few years later, being exhibited at the prestigious Art Monaco contemporary art fair at the Grimaldi Forum in 2010, the GMAC Paris Bastille in 2006, the Relais & Châteaux Mas d’Artigny in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, and the Palais de la Méditerranée in Nice in 2007.
